French Bulldogs are believed to have originated in England from bulldog fanciers who wanted a bully dog but not a fighting dog. The dogs became quite popular, especially with English lace makers. When the industrial revolution was sweeping England, English lacemakers left England and set up shop in France taking their little bulldogs with them. Ideally the French Bulldog or Frenchie as they would later become known was a small bulldog weighing about 16 lbs but not more than 28 lbs. Quite conveniently their small size made them great lap warmers for their artisan owners. Wealthy Americans traveling to Paris were very taken with the little Frenchie and imported them to the United States. The breed was first exhibited at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in 1896.
Frenchies make excellent pets and are just as happy in a house with a yard or an apartment with a view. One thing they are not is an outside dog. They cannot tolerate heat or cold so do not purchase a Frenchie expecting it to stay outside for any length of time. Frenchies cannot swim although they do love water. If you have a pool extra caution must be taken to keep your Frenchie safe. Frenchies are people dogs and while they get along well with other dogs, people are number one. They are agile in spite of their low- center of gravity and can be quite active. If a Frenchie is being mischievous more than likely they need a little more attention from their people. One of their favourite games is tug-o-war but French Bulldogs also enjoy running errands, long walks,or snuggling on the couch watching TV. They perform well in competitive events such as agility, rally, obedience, and conformation shows as well.

Boston Terriers are special dogs that can do special things. They are highly intelligent and learn quickly. They enjoy showing off in the conformation ring and do very well in Obedience, Therapy work, and Performance Events (Agility, Flyball and even Weight pulling!) Bostons excel in many roles. A Boston Terrier can be a child's rough and tumble best buddy, or a senior citizen's soulmate and confidante. Most of all they excell at being your "best friend"!
However, they are not for everyone.
Bostons require a lot of time and attention. They are and have been bred to be companions. They will langusih without human contact. They are not "outside" dogs!
Boston Terriers are very active dogs that love to play. Without some basic training they may jump on you and maybe even give little nips while playing. Some Bostons have been given up for adoption or dropped off the local "dog pound" for these very reasons.
We breed and show quality, health tested AKC Registered Boston Terriers and French Bulldogs. We have a very select breeding program with the primary goal being breeding and raising healthy dogs that conform to the breed standard as maintained by the Boston Terrier Club of America and the French Bulldog Club of America. Our breeding program is focused on Quality, Never Quantity!
